Muskoka Sunset

A blood-red sky presses down over a lake ringed by dead, bark-stripped trees, their bare trunks standing like a fence line around the water. The sun burns low and bright at the horizon, its reflection stretching across still water dotted with lily pads. A weathered stump sits in the foreground, split and hollowed by years of exposure. Muskoka Sunset finds a landscape that looks half-mourned and half-magnificent at exactly the same hour.
