Last Gold Leaves

by Igor Zenin · 2012

One tree keeps its last gold leaves against a field of snow that runs out further than the frame can hold, a pale glow low on the horizon throwing its shadow out sideways across the drifts. It's a solitude that reads as earned, not sad — the light doing most of the talking, unhurried, untouched, in no rush to be noticed.
