Reflecting Sunset

A lone figure sits on a rock at the edge of a beach lit orange and red, footprints trailing behind through wet sand toward a patch of rainbow-colored tide pool. Birds wheel low over the water, and a hazy sun hangs directly above, its light doubled in the sand's wet sheen below. Everything in the frame — sky, sand, water — carries the same warm color, as if the whole beach had caught fire from the sunset. Reflecting Sunset is a study in one person choosing to sit still while a landscape does something spectacular.
