Winter Life

A bullfinch perches on a snow-heavy pine branch at the edge of a misty forest, its orange breast the one warm note against endless white and gray. Streaks of pink cloud color the sky above rows of snow-draped evergreens fading into fog. Winter Life finds its title in that one small bird holding its ground against a landscape that looks like it has swallowed everything else.
