Wicked Winter

A hooded crow perches atop a wind-carved snowbank, calling out with its beak open, its tracks trailing down the slope toward the foreground. In the distance a horse-drawn sledge crosses the open drift under a hazy, backlit sky, the only sign of human presence in an otherwise empty winter expanse. The wind has sculpted the snow into long parallel ridges that dominate the lower two-thirds of the frame.
