Whiteout

A bullfinch, its breast burning bright orange against the frost, perches on an ice-glazed branch as a hazy winter sun hangs low behind drifting fog. Every twig is sheathed in rime, catching what little light escapes the mist. Whiteout distills winter down to one small flash of warm color against an otherwise colorless world.
