A violinist plays in profile, bow drawn across the strings, double-exposed with a cracked, drought-baked earth and a sky of birds scattering across a burning orange sunset. The same fissures running through the ground run straight through the fire and the figure alike, as if performer, flame, and earth all share one broken surface. A companion to Soloist — same instrument, same solitary player — but staged here against fracture and heat instead of open sky.
