Snowy River

A dark, half-frozen river cuts through a hushed winter forest, its banks buried under snow-laden branches that arch overhead like a cathedral ceiling. Birch trunks glow pale against the deeper woods behind them, while the water itself stays open and black, refusing to freeze over completely. Nothing moves in the frame except the suggestion of current beneath the surface. Snowy River finds the one warm-toned absence of white in a landscape otherwise given entirely to winter.
