Iceman

A man's head and shoulders, rendered entirely in carved ice and lit deep purple, wears a top hat with more dignity than most living sitters manage. Light passes straight through the sculpture, catching every crack and facet the carving left behind. Iceman is portraiture that will, eventually, simply melt away — which somehow makes it more compelling, not less.
