Higher Ground

Frost-heavy birch branches frame a snowbound valley where a golden-domed church glows on a distant hill, one small figure crossing the frozen river far below. Everything in the foreground drips with ice while that one point of gold holds steady in the distance. Higher Ground earns its name in the climb still ahead of that lone walker.
