Frozen Boat

Frost-heavy branches hang low over a misty lake where a small pale sun and its fainter echo both glow through the haze, a lone boat resting at the water's edge below. Birds skim low over the frozen surface, the only movement in a landscape gone otherwise still and silver. The mist blurs every hard edge into something softer, closer to memory than photograph. Frozen Boat holds that particular quiet of a winter morning when the world hasn't quite decided to wake up yet.
