Departure
by Igor Zenin
A horse-drawn carriage passes beneath a stone archway dripping in red autumn vines, heading straight into a misty avenue of trees lit up gold from somewhere just out of frame. It plays like the entrance to a memory rather than an actual road — one that only opens for people who are already leaving. Nostalgia doesn't usually get its own doorway. This one built itself an arch.
