Christmas Night

Colorful ornaments crowd the top of the frame, hanging so close they're almost out of focus, while a snow-buried village and its church domes sit small and monochrome below. It's two Christmases photographed at once — the close, decorated, colorful one right in front of you, and the quiet, centuries-old one going on regardless in the distance. Neither cancels the other out.
