Chickadees

Three chickadees hang in mid-air, wings thrown wide in that split second between flap and glide, golden Orthodox domes softening into a blur behind them. It's motion caught right at its most dramatic instant, feathers doing all the work a shutter usually can't keep up with. The church stays perfectly still so the birds don't have to.
