Two chestnut horses have their heads down at the waterline, a grey one behind them still deciding, and the whole scene half-dissolved in the kind of fog that only lasts until the sun burns through it. Gold birch leaves hang over all three like they're the ones being polite and staying quiet. Nothing here was staged for an audience — you just happened to be standing where it was kept.
