Autumn Evening

Birch and red bushes stand dark against a sky doing its whole color range at once — gold low on the horizon fading up into blue — the water below giving it all back in near-perfect calm. Evenings like this don't last, which might be the whole reason they get photographed as often as they do. It's autumn's last good light before the color drains out for the year.
