Transylvania Kiss

Two pairs of legs stand close together in traditional wool wraps and woven sandals, planted in a green meadow with rolling hills fading out behind them — the rest of the couple left entirely to imagination. It's less a portrait of two people than of a whole regional identity worn instead of described: the folk spirit of Moldova and Transylvania carried in every stitch of the costume. Sometimes the most intimate way to show a couple is to show what they're standing in, not who they are.
