Spring Waters

Tall weeping willows form a canopy over a calm spring river, their long trailing curtains of green meeting the water's surface. Three swans are mid-motion — one landing, wings spread wide, the others gliding toward shore. Morning light breaks through the left side of the frame in long crepuscular shafts, cutting through the green mist and illuminating the scene from within. The far bank is a soft haze of trees reflected in still water. Spring Waters is a sanctuary image: everything in it — the willows, the light, the swans — is in the process of arriving.
