A gnarled tree root twists up from the riverbank in a shape that reads almost like a face, colorful autumn forest glowing warm across the still water behind it. The root looks older than the trees around it, weathered into something closer to sculpture than wood. Old Roots earns its name in every knot and hollow carved by decades at the water's edge.
