Freedom

A flock of Canada geese flies in tight formation high above a quilted landscape of farmland, a river winding silver through fields laid out in every shade of green and brown. The birds own the whole sky; the ground below just gets to be scenery. It's freedom measured in altitude and distance, with nothing between the flock and the horizon.
