A cluster of crab apples sits beneath a wash of dragon-scale texture, dark grey giving way to fiery orange and yellow as the pattern sweeps across the frame like heat rippling off the fruit itself. The apples blur under the overlay, more suggestion than photograph, caught somewhere between still life and pure abstraction. Where its companion piece lets gold do the framing, this one lets fire do the dissolving. Ember Harvest treats the same orchard cluster as something closer to a controlled burn.
