Beach Stroll

A woman and her dog walk an off-season beach where the umbrellas have been stripped down to bare metal ribs, standing empty against a sky doing a full, theatrical sunset for an audience of two. Nobody photographs a beach quite like this in July. It takes the emptiness of autumn to make the umbrellas look like sculpture instead of furniture.
