Ballerina & Gramophone

by Igor Zenin · 2011

A dancer holds an arabesque against a sky that's stopped being sky and turned into planets and drifting stars instead — the gramophone's music implied rather than shown, the whole scene tuned to somewhere between a stage and outer space. It's ballet with the room removed and the universe put in its place. Some poses are steady enough to hold their own against literally anything you put behind them.
