Avian Reflection

A hummingbird hovers in mid-air, bill extended toward a single large suspended droplet — and from the droplet's curved surface, its own reflection reaches back to meet it. Inside the droplet, a complete world: silhouetted trees against a golden sunset, their image doubling below into reflected still water. The drop contains everything the bird has never seen — an entire landscape compressed into a sphere the size of its own head. Avian Reflection is an image about scale and containment: the small bird, the smaller world inside the drop, and the larger world outside the frame, all touching at the tip of one bill.
