Autumn's Arrival

A small figure in white steps through the fog at the far end of the frame while one gold maple leaf, blown up to impossible size, takes over the entire foreground. Scale stops making literal sense here, and that's exactly the charm — autumn arriving less like weather and more like an entrance cue in a fairy tale. Whoever she is, she's just walked into the good part of the season.
