Autumn Frost

by Igor Zenin

A horse-drawn wagon moves through a forest at the precise moment when autumn becomes winter — the leaves still holding their amber and ochre while the branches above are already white with the first frost. The forest is not one season but two, caught mid-transition, and the wagon passes through the middle of it unhurried. Autumn Frost is a landscape of the threshold: the brief window when two seasons share the same forest, and everything in it belongs to both.
