A Look Back

A woman in a red coat presses her hand flat against glass streaked with rain, small white birds scattered like static across the dark space behind her. She's caught mid-turn, looking back over her shoulder at something already out of frame — the title doing exactly what the gesture does. Nostalgia rarely gets photographed this literally, a hand pressed to a boundary it can't cross.
