Autumn's Colors

Small red and gold crab apples cluster tight on bare branches, each one rendered through a faceted, almost crystalline texture that turns ordinary fruit into something closer to jewelry. Autumn's warm backdrop crowds close around them, letting the branch itself do the composing. It's a small subject given the kind of attention orchards rarely get, and it rewards a close look.
